Painting en plein air for me means capturing a moment in time, in light, in sound, in temperature, in color. It's a moment that intrigued me and called to me to record it forever. If I've been successful, not only will the beauty of that split second be captured, but every time I view the painting I will always be able to remember why.
After 22 years of creating and exhibiting as a professional artist, I now schedule my entire day, everyday, around finding the beauty in the moment and then painting it. I find that it's a wonderful way to paint and to live.
I received my art training at Parson's School of Design in New York City NY and New England School of Art and Design in Boston MA. I've also studied with Bob Rohm in his workshop at Willowisp Farm Studios, Fairview NC, with Ann Templeton at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu NM, Deborah Paris in Dunedin FL and Maddine Insalaco and Joe Vinson in Tuscany, Italy. My work is in collections across the USA and the Virgin Islands.
