Jo Ann Williams Walker is an American impressionist painter. She loves strong abstracted brushwork and an analogous palette void of all earth colors. Her artistic mind and creative spirit have taken many years to develop and she continues her pursuit of light; attempting to capture it on an ongoing daily basis.
Her paintings reflect the majesty of the High Sierras in California as well as the foothills and mountains of the Carolinas. She lives and conducts classes in the Highlands each July. She captures the wild beauty of Maine’s rocky coast and the beautiful, sometimes tranquil – sometimes turbulent, shores on the Gulf of Mexico which is only minutes from her backyard. The gardens and countryside of Brittany are another favorite destination. An avid traveler, she keeps her pochade and brushes poised for the next adventure, wherever it happens to take her. In September 2006, she will return to her favorite part of the world, Umbria and Tuscany, to paint with Guido Frick (a student of the late Sergei Bongart of Russia).
She has recently completed the construction of a beautiful new studio in Bay Point, FL and she graciously invites you to visit her there.
