Toni says, "I love the act of painting from life. Whether it is outdoors from nature, a still life set up indoors, or a model posing I feel there isn't any other way to truly know and capture a subject than from life. Photo's lie; and unless you have painted from life, you can't know what has been compressed into the narrow value and color range of film. Nor can you respond to the light and the moment at hand. Plein air painting to me, is always a wonderful exhilarating experience, where one works at fullest potential to capture the light, feeling and color of a scene, which will change quickly."

Toni Treverton has been painting and drawing since she was a child. She earned a Bachelor of Art at the University of Florida. After many years in the print advertising business, she turned to selling, and exhibiting her paintings. She taught painting for 10 years in Atlanta and Gainesville GA, and now teaches in Lakeland FL. Her artwork hangs in many private collections throughout the south.
