Homosassa Springs Paint Out at Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park was hosted by Nature Coast Plein Air Painters. Linda Blondheim arrived an hour early so decided to get some painting in while waiting for the rest of the painters. There was a lovely stand of palms at the edge of the parking lot of which she did a nice quick little painting. When the painters arrived they gathered inside the main building and counted heads. The park gave a nice discount on admittance and gave artists free reign of the park with no restrictions. Linda spent all morning with the flamingos, while others spread out to find their favorite spots. | ||

At lunchtime, artists met for sandwiches at the snack bar and talked shop. Afterward, several headed for the river, which is normally quite beautiful with graceful palms and dense vegetation. Unfortunately, the river was packed with power boats and loud noisy kids. Most managed to ignore them and get some nice paintings despite the distractions. Barbara Perrotti set up by the spring and John Rice did several pieces in his wonderful figurative style. | |||

All had a very good time and were pleased with the event. There were 18 painters there on Saturday and 12 on Sunday. Thanks go to Brenda Herbert and NCPAP for hosting and developing this excellent paint out. | |||
