Jones Farm Paint Out at Micanopy was graciously hosted by Pierce and Laura Jones. Not only did they provide marvelous scenery with a pond, pastures, cows, outbuildings, and a variety of fauna, but also delicious home baked bread. The weather was pleasant so we all got some good painting done. Linda loved the Washingtonian palms, Sharon did a nice pastel piece of some dense Spanish moss, Sandra captured the garden shed in watercolor, Elisabeth found the pasture entriguing, and David focused on the bull and the tractor. So the morning turned out to be very productive and enjoyable for all.

A break for lunch at Rocky's Mexican-Italian Restaurant in Orange Lake resulted in filled tummies and fun conversation about the morning's efforts. Afterward, we went down the road a short way to paint at Orange Lake, which displays a wide savannah with palms, orange trees and pools of water in the distance. The afternoon produced more paintings with an entirely different mood. As the light faded, each made their way home variously to Branford, Cedar Key, Gainesville, Orlando, and Sanford.
