John Larner's home and studio is surrounded with nature and much of his painting focuses on such scenes with old homesteads, wild rivers and landmarks of the region. He has a special passion for seascapes and marine subjects. He says, "My original inspiration is from the American plein air artist Robert Wood, along with the French Impressionists. I like to breathe in the atmosphere as I try to capture it."
