I see the world as a series of possible paintings. Before I even pick up a brush, I am constantly considering compositions, light, colors, textures, and forms. My preferred method of painting is wet-into-wet using oil paints. The process of dragging wet paint into wet paint is fun and gives the work a spontaneous and painterly look. I prefer creating a painting in one session, known as alla prima. But, I will return to a location many times if needed.

The entire plein air experience gives me great satisfaction. My goal is to continue learning and growing as an artist, and to work diligently creating paintings that reflect my love of nature. After twenty years it's still a joy to be a landscape painter.

I received excellent fine art training at Paier School of Art in Hamden, and the Lyme Academy of Fine Art in Old Lyme, both in Connecticut.

My teaching experience includes at North Hollow School in Rochester, Vermont and at the Johnson College External Degree Program in Johnson, Vermont. And I've given painting demonstrations at various art leagues around the country.
