I have always loved nature, but painting outdoors has allowed me to really see the beauty of the world around me. My passion for painting 'en plein air' has driven me into the wild and pristine areas of Florida. I have endured heat, cold, wind, etc. in order to observe, experience and respond in paint to all aspects of nature. Watching how the sun transforms the landscape, as it moves across it, is a constant joy and capturing it in paint is a never ending challenge! My paintings share the authentic and intimate sense of place I feel in the timeless beauty of the natural world.
Brenda was awarded a fellowship at the Crealde School of Art in Winter Park FL, and it was during this time that she fell in love with the plein air painting method. She has a great admiration for the early California impressionists and other American outdoor painters. Her paintings have been exhibited throughout the USA and has found favor with a growing number of collectors.
